Butchershop is looking for an Associate Design Director to join our growing digital product team. Working under our VP of Digital Design, you will help set the tone and lead the Experience and Visual design practice areas, managing projects and mentoring more junior members of the team.
As a member of the design leadership team, you will be responsible for leading projects and cross-disciplinary project teams in their day to day process. Providing guidance and direction, and generally raising the bar on work quality, you always push for the most strategic and thoughtful solutions that keep both the users and our customers in mind.
You will be responsible for fully owning and managing projects from initial concept through to final deliverables and documentation. You’ll partner with the Client Partnership and Project Operations team to ensure an effective creative problem solving and delivery approach, guide the creative team, and respond to client needs as they arise. Finally you’ll be in charge of creating healthy, trusted and productive relationships with our clients in order to facilitate the decision making process, guiding them along the way to be sure we are meeting their expectations and real time needs.

Qualified Candidate Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of related work experience with minimum 2 years of agency experience.
Minimum 1 year of management experience with direct reports.
Job Functions
PROJECT CONTRIBUTIONS
Collaborate with the Account Leadership team including, Client Partnerships, Project Management and creative leadership, to scope, structure, plan and execute projects.
Partner with the Creative Director on the early stages of approach and proposal creation.
Introduce new/alternative approaches and methods to projects.
Oversee work through all phases of a project—providing insight and suggestions along the way to ensure Butchershop is delivering the best and most innovative work possible in a clear, concise manner.
Establish trust and positive relationships with key stakeholders on the client side.
Articulate the story and vision effectively to internal team members as well as back to the client.
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Step in as an Individual contribution across both UX and visual design, providing design firepower on complex workstreams and projects that are under resourced.
Focus on understanding goals, business requirements and possible constraints, user needs, frustrations or expectations, in order to help the team find the best possible opportunities and solutions at every stage.
Advocate for keeping user experience and user-centered design best practices and methodologies at the center of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful digital experiences and products.
