A night of cinematic adventures with Chris Burkard

Join us at Butchershop HQ in San Francisco on Monday, August 7th for an exclusive viewing of Chris Burkard’s new film “Under An Arctic Sky.”

The film follows six surfers along with adventure photographer Chris Burkard and filmmaker Ben Weiland as they seek out unknown swell in the remote fjords of Iceland’s Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. Chartering a boat, they depart from Isafjordur on the cusp of the greatest storm to make landfall in 25 years that will bring a legendary swell.

Carrying out the expedition on the road, they experience the brutality of Iceland’s winter firsthand. Despite setbacks, the team pushes on and finds that uncertainty is the best ingredient for discovering the unimaginable. View the official trailer below or on vimeo here.

The viewing will take place at Butchershop’s San Francisco office. Doors open at 7pm. Limited seats are available. We’ll have plenty of Fort Point beer, and there’s even a rumor that popcorn will be provided. Tickets and useful links below.
